Our Stars at Night - Or Are They?
July 5, 2009 5:04 am TechnologyWhen you think about it in reality, when we go out on a clear cloudless night and look up at the stars above, few of us ever realize that the closest star to Earth is actually over three thousand light years away from us. In essence, this means that even traveling at the speed of light, hubble telescope image which is something like 186,000 miles per second, it take over three thousand years in real time for the light we are seeing from that star in the sky at night to travel through space and reach us here on Earth. Our fragile and beautiful Earth is like a mere grain of sand in a desert of stars and yet.
