My wife’s grandmother disappeared a few years ago.  She was never very close to her family. She’d placed several of her children for adoption when times got tough for her in the fifties and she was embarrassed by that situation. But, the children understood and tried to make her a part of their family. At least, after they found each other. But, the grandmother didn’t gel with the rest of them, and suddenly, she wasn’t available any more for family dinners. She told her oldest son that she was going to Tucson to vacation. I’ll be checking Arizona public records for my wife next time I go online.
