People Knew How to Handle Money

7:45 am Home

When my grandparents were young adults, people knew how to handle money. They never spent what they didn’t have, and they were careful not to make split-second decisions on large purchases such as furniture. When credit cards were introduced, however, people’s habits turned completely around. They learned to buy now and pay later. The problem with this was that they sometimes didn’t have the money when the bills came due, and they just got further and further behind. Now it looks as if things are coming full circle. Credit is becoming obsolete for many people, and they are having to look for savings first when they buy things rather than just throwing them on a credit card.
