Electrical Code Must Be Followed When Undertaking Any Wiring Project

These regulations are commonly known as building codes. Most codes are similar overall, but there may be specifics for your area. Your local building inspector will be able to help with any questions you may have. Also, this is probably the person who will be conducting inspections of your project to insure it is up to code. When rewiring an older home or constructing a new one, you have to abide by the electrical wiring model code. According to the code, the installation of an arc fault breaker is mandatory in all new construction. This rule does not apply to older homes, but it you are rewiring a home with outdated wiring it would be wise to install arc fault breakers to protect your home from electrical fires.
