When I heard my grandmother was having someone install a do it yourself alarm home monitoring security system, I didn’t understand how much good it would do.  I called the neighbor that is to do the work and asked some questions and found out that even if you install a system yourself, you can arrange for it to be connected to an outside monitoring service.  That did calm my fears some.  I think I’m just too skeptical about things from watching too many suspense thriller movies.  It’s really a smart step for my grandmother to take since she lives alone for the first time in 60 years.
