Non-Surgical Ways to Treat Chronic Sciatica
February 14, 2010 7:52 am HealthSeveral years ago, my father had a slipped disk in his back which caused a case of sciatica. After several weeks of therapy the herniated disk cleared up, but the sciatica lingered on. His doctor told us that some people suffer from chronic sciatica. Since then he has had several different types of treatments including muscle relaxants, anti-depressant medication and corticosteroid treatments. He also has regular ultrasound and deep muscle massage treatments. While none of these cure his sciatica, he has been able to live a normal life thanks to the combination of these. I’m just happy that so far he has not required surgery.
