The most common cause of heel pain is plantar fasciitis. The plantar fascia is a strong ligament that attached to the heel and the ball of the foot. Its job is to hold up the arch of the foot. So, it should be obvious that anything that loads the arch is likely to be a factor in causing plantar fasciitis. These factors include the activity level, high body weight, flatfoot, and tight calf muscles. The treatment includes the prevention which predisposes it.
