They already tried that in NC. If your job was outsourced the state would just about pay for your college education. To spur innovation we need to get away from what in effect has become a command economy run by politicians and lobbyists. It does not work. We need to stop injecting money into firms. If a CEO’s pay is based on stock advice performance in a flat economy and you give him BILLIONS he will go and buy back the companies stock to drive up the price to get his bonus. If you don’t give him money he has to find a way or make a way to be successful, i.e. be innovative or drive others to innovate. On the individual side if you don’t give them money the same thing occurs.

The Catholic Church contracts with its employees by offering, in exchange for their services, a compensation package that is competitive for the position.
