Susan, your article made me sad. Your conclusion seemed to be that since the gereration before you messed things up so badly, you would simply do the same thing- but in a kinder way. No problem is solved, blame has been deflected and your funny marriage advice failures have been justified. Marriage is a difficlut thing do do well, and even harder if you did not have a successful example to follow. My parents 60 marriage has made my 30 year marriage easier, but it is never easy. However, the benefits of persererence are real. I wish you the best for your future and encouarge you to seek out older people who have maintained a long term relation for guidance.
