Playing minor pentatonic scales on guitar is surprisingly relaxing for a lot of people. A good friend of mine plays the guitar really well and when she doesn’t know what to play, she starts the minor scales. It is surprising to me how she can make simple five note scales sound awesome. She learned how to play completely on her own, never having had on official lesson in her life. She learned mostly by simply picking up her dad’s guitar and plucking away the strings. Although she can read music very well, she prefers to write music of her own and play by ear. To me, she is a fantastic guitarist.
